I've read Samuel Pepys on in Wikipedia. It's interesting. I will try to find his book (diary) and read it.

Good to hear from you.

I think the types of conversations described in your post could take place in different languages, all over the world. The idea of stealth advertising is not just confined to speakers of English.

In response to:Stealth marketing

I have found such tricks earlier but now learned that it named as stealth marketing ..but i dont think its ethical

In response to:Stealth marketing

Hello menhir! Sorry for being quiet for a while. I have not listened these conversation. I've almost forgotten this blog. You remind me it. Your blog is interesting.
Based on the principle that it's almost impossible to ignore someone's conversation if no one else is talking at the time.

Most of the chimpanzees I have had to endure on trains seemed to be in some sort of sales job anyway, so it's probably the same people doing the stealthy marketing.

In response to:Stealth marketing

That's an interesting one. It would be difficult to know if you had been subliminally 'sold' something by these sorts of stealth means. It is a good reason not to listen in to other people's conversations, particularly if the conversation is about material services or goods!!

In response to:The Great Fire of London

I don't know of any books or films about this. Try googling it and you'll probably find something. There is an extensive Wikipedia entry.
That's what I imagined about him. "He had plenty of faults and wasn't liked by many of his colleagues." That's true? It's an education for me. Thank you for the comments.
Churchill was the right man at the right time but as soon as the war ended he was voted out of office. He had plenty of faults and wasn't liked by many of his colleagues.
He was, understandably, one of this countries great leaders, and often said to be the greatest.
