I presume that it's humid, as well as hot, which makes most people feel tired.

I think the types of conversations described in your post could take place in different languages, all over the world. The idea of stealth advertising is not just confined to speakers of English.

It's a variation on those immensely irritating people on trains who insist on informing all around them (via a VERY LOUD conversation on their mobiles) just how busy, important, successful and generally wonderful they are.

Based on the principle that it's almost impossible to ignore someone's conversation if no one else is talking at the time.

Most of the chimpanzees I have had to endure on trains seemed to be in some sort of sales job anyway, so it's probably the same people doing the stealthy marketing.

That's an interesting one. It would be difficult to know if you had been subliminally 'sold' something by these sorts of stealth means. It is a good reason not to listen in to other people's conversations, particularly if the conversation is about material services or goods!!

All Britain acclaimed Churchill as a national hero. That's what I imagined about him. "He had plenty of faults and wasn't liked by many of his colleagues." That's true? It's an education for me. Thank you for the comments.

Hello! Churchill was the right man at the right time but as soon as the war ended he was voted out of office. He had plenty of faults and wasn't liked by many of his colleagues.
He was, understandably, one of this countries great leaders, and often said to be the greatest.
