I will visit London with friends from Japan this month.
I'm looking for lovely restaurants in central London.
Could you recommend it?
We are staying in Kensington.

Where and What to eat in London?

I shall be in London this Month but not for long, just a quick visit.
You will have no problem finding good places to eat in Kensington. It is a very attractive part of a highly cosmopolitan city with global eating tastes.
If you do not want sushi - there are lots of sushi places available now, there are Thai restaurants, Middle Eastern food is good, like Lebanese or Greek or Turkish. There is a great Indian Tapas Bar in Wardour Street London W1. I think it is called IMLI, there are many different kinds of noodle bars; Italian restaurants are excellent. For a special treat you could have lunch in Harrods in Knightsbridge or Fortnum and Mason in Picadilly; also there is the possibility of tea at The Ritz, also in Picadilly, but if you would like to take afternoon tea at the Ritz you should make a reservation before you leave home.
If you want economic but good food there are two places with the name MAOZ in Soho. one is near Wardour Street London W1 (off Shaftesbury Avenue) and the other you walk up Shaftesbury Avenue, turn left at Dean Street, turn first left again and it is a short distance down on the left side of the street. (The other MAOZ is around the corner from there) These are more like quick eating places you can take the food away or eat it there, counter service only.
It is fun to walk around Chinatown in Soho, again, just off Shaftesbury Avenue, near Leicester Square. You may find somewhere there you would like to eat.
Enjoy!
Pizza Express restaurants are very good and they offer some nicely produced salads.

Hello! menhir
Thank you so much for the lovely suggestions. I'd love to eat in the restaurants.
I will look them up on a map, and email you later.

Good - don't forget to look at Kensington area and South Kensington too. They are really super locations to find a lot interesting things, not all them, food.
