He was dubbed as Mr Noodle.

by ashbourne2 @ 2007-04-29 - 09:10:25

Momofuku Ando, (March 5, 1910 – January 5, 2007) was the Taiwanese Japanese founder and chairman of Nissin Food Products Co., Ltd., and the inventor of world's first instant noodles and cup noodles.

The three saying of Mr Ando became a philosophy of life:

Peace will come when people have food.

Eating wisely will enhance beauty and health.

The creation of food will serve society.

(from obituary in The Economist)

A tip from Alison Willcocks

by ashbourne2 @ 2007-04-16 - 01:54:09

"If you love something, set it free."

If you love something, set it free. If it comes back to you, it's yours. If it doesn't, it never was. We do not possess anything in this world, least of all other people. We only imagine that we do. Our friends, our lovers, our spouses, even our children are not ours; they belong only to themselves. Possessive and controlling friendships and relationships can be as harmful as neglect.

-------------------

If it does not come back to you, it was never yours.

If it does come back to you, it was always yours.

If it had a bad day, you had a bad day.

If it was happy, you were happy.

Listen to whatever someone said

by ashbourne2 @ 2007-04-08 - 04:41:33

"Knowledge speaks, but wisdom listens." Jimmy Hendrix

It means that too much knowledge might trigger stay-awayness, wisdom attract a number of people?

I would not have thought that American says these words. They clearly express their own opinion, don't they? Japanese sometimes think "Silence is golden". That doesn't sound very good.

The Phantom of the Opera

by ashbourne2 @ 2007-04-04 - 07:22:42

I went to see The Phantom of the Opera by Japanese actors in Tokyo with my sister last month. I saw the musical twice in London. I feel strange that they sang in Japanese in the musical. Anyway I enjoyed it and that was a good chance for a switch. I've been at home for a year.
