stray down a lane

by ashbourne2 @ 2006-12-29 - 03:06:47

It's a sunny nice day. There is a gentle breeze blowing. Let's go for a walk.

During my promenade, I sometimes stray from the trail and get lost. Then I take the unknown road. I like this event - lose my way, stray around and come across something new.

What new things are waiting for me this coming year?

Penny wise and pound foolish

by ashbourne2 @ 2006-12-25 - 00:11:58

When you lost something, you can buy it. You can buy anything. If it gets old, you can get new one. Expensive ones are not easy to buy, but you can get any number of cheep things. However, if you buy something cheap, you'll probably get something cheap. Haven't you bought a lot of junk compulsively in your life? Who will not keep a penny, never shall have many.

Become aware of

by ashbourne2 @ 2006-12-23 - 01:45:11

"You always wish for happiness, despite you have it already."

You are a great believer in being happy? You never talk about your future without the word "happiness". You long for keeping the position of being happy, never unhappy. It is natural for everyone to desire being happy. Then, what is happiness? It is difficult to answer this question. Material prosperity today we are mixed up with society in different ways. We tend to take a pessimistic view of things, although actually surrounded by a lot of happiness. Even though you feel unhappy at the moment, you might just not to notice the happiness you are belonging with.

Multiculturalism became a part of our world.

by ashbourne2 @ 2006-12-21 - 00:44:01

I saw a Muslim woman in burqa was shopping in a small supermarket near my house. I had seen many of them when I lived in London, but in our neighborhood (in Japan) it was a big surprise. Some other shoppers seemed also surprised.

There were always moving and exchange of nations in the history in European countries. People travel, move to another countries, bring their culture into the new place. London is an exhibition of nations, races, cultures and religions of the world.

Although Japan hardly had contacted with the outside world for a long period in the olden days because of geographical insulation, the travelling today is very fast and easy. We can visit not only our neighbours but also very long-distanced countries.

I think it's important to keep purity of our language and to maintain our culture. On the other hand, foreigners from another country should be treated with some respect. There might be many new conflicts and misunderstandings though, and so the veiled woman exists as a welcomed guest, who feels good by us and who can be enrichment for our world.

Do you envy rich people?

by ashbourne2 @ 2006-12-19 - 01:04:02

I'd like to trust someone regardless of the label or wealth though, I would envy a rich person if their efforts results in riches. Additionally, I wish I could have quality time which gives me no time to envy rich people. If you are filled with envy at someone, it's just a waste of time. I think the only way to avoid envious feeling is spending quality time.

Come to the conclusion in "Feeling envious rich people but live and let live". Does that make sense? You can't change your life which you chose. If you didn't make your own decisions, you would go on with your life envy rich people.

Convince oneself

by ashbourne2 @ 2006-12-17 - 00:24:04

The children who were raised in a loving home are independent of their parents earlier. It doesn't seem that being too strict to children is good. Nothing runs according to script on raising children.

Nearly 80 percent of contentedness is enough in doing anything ... If you ever fall into hard times, don't feel so bad about it. You got an education. Anything is worth. Believe your life is well on. Reset the settings, renew your spirits, create an atmosphere. It's good to get lost within hobby or physical exercise.

circulatory personality

by ashbourne2 @ 2006-12-15 - 23:42:58

Sometimes you find yourself acting against your mind and immediately regret having done things. Something you are not aware of, it surely exists inside of you.

Ancestral DNA might set you to do the things. Double personality may also be the phenomenon in which ancestor appeared in yourself. Can you take dreams which ancestors couldn't make come true? What dreams will come to you?

weather a point

"I do not hate contrary wind. I rather welcome it, because it is not possible to advance to the next step, if I couldn't triumph over adversity in whatever. Therefore contrary wind is hailed ."

Everybody long for sailing smoothly in life and you desire not to run into obstacles. However, hardships and troubles bring lots of awareness and leads to mature. If there is no pressure, time just passes as it is, and we could get neither variation nor growth. However, only after you thrash to windward, you try to look back on the way, to add devices and to evolve your life. Encounter the contrary wind is the chance of your own leap.

Fate

by ashbourne2 @ 2006-12-11 - 00:58:01

You have to make your own choice and decide it for yourself, as you can't tell what's going to happen in the next moment. Do you think that you can create your own future by your will or effort? I wonder the potential which the will and the effort might be fate already-decided.

Of course I don't mean to deny life. Even if fate is not changed easily, you are smart enough not to give up everything. Although terminating station of life is death for everyone, nobody lose energy to live right from the start.

The words on "Anne of Green Gables" 2

by ashbourne2 @ 2006-12-09 - 23:35:12

"And as for the risk, there's risks in pretty near everything a body does in this world."
ANNE OF GREEN GABLES CHAPTER I - Mrs. Rachel Lynde is Surprised

This is Marilla's answer when Rachel made word of warning about adopting orphan and insisted the risk. Even if Marilla was opposed, she would determine to adopt orphan and bring up the child properly.

When you do something, you are always accompanied by risk. Business promotion, career change, having an operation, getting marry, divorce, travel by car, having a favor to ask someone...., you are in danger of doing anything. Although it's important to know the risk, it doesn't mean to hesitate to do something. You should advance steadily with courage. Whenever lose my courage, think back on this words.

Music of someone's words

by ashbourne2 @ 2006-12-09 - 00:53:29

The past month has been very difficult for him because his dog died. On his customary walk in the morning he changed the course. He is taking solitary walk every morning.

He sees a old woman who is giving a sweep at the pathway near station every time on his walk. Although they were bowing acquaintance at the beginning. became to stand talking in the course of time. She is 85 years old though, straighten up, seems to be much younger than she really is. She has been cleaning around the neighborhood for twenty five years.

He asked her about what he has always wondered , "We can keep clean our teeth, face and body, ...but there seems to be difficult keep our heart clean. How do you manage it?"

"Well ...." she said with a moment's thought, " "Words" I suppose. Put gratitude from the bottom of your heart into words, then you can get pure heart. Wounding expression or disrespect will make your heart cloud up."

Clear atmosphere in the early morning, he felt his dog pull this heartwarming words together.

Sazae-san Syndrome

by ashbourne2 @ 2006-12-03 - 00:12:52

There are people who become melancholic on Sunday evening about the ending of "Sazae-san" which might be national popular animated cartoon. Although this cartoon shows warm episodes of the Isono family. The reason why is that "Sazae-san" finishing means weekend finishing. They feel low on thinking of school or work tomorrow. This is Sazae-san Syndrome.

You need a lot of attention if you are the person who doesn't have specific hobby or idling your time away in weekends. It become difficult for stare at the four walls alone to sufficiently let the stress out. You should go out to do your favourite things and enjoy having someone stay with. It's better to use your time well in holiday.

Moreover, there's another meaning of "Sazae-san syndrome". The youngster who came up to Tokyo away from home and live alone watches Sazae-san, then the loving home of Isono family go to her/his heart, miss the family. It make her/him uneasy to go to work or school tomorrow.

Cultural Literacy

by ashbourne2 @ 2006-12-01 - 01:42:02

Well, it's with the education boom lately. Many people learn something in a variety of areas regardless of their business or hobbies. There are wide variety of books on the shelves in bookstores, such as philosophy books, general knowledge, common knowledge which is now too late to ask anyone, the books "something series" which can tell just one day, the books which explain the story lines of Japanese or foreign literature, and the classical music CD are having good sales today.

As it is required expertness on work, seems that the number of people who possess what we call liberal education is growing. To begin with, current Japanese education hasn't the way that students study something culture. It is said that the high schools under the old system of education gave much more opportunities to learn culture.

It's difficult to assess certain level of absorbing culture, unlike getting qualification or up skill something. How much do you concern yourself with cultural enrichment? What is the cultural literacy all about?
